Questions
Can I upload an MP3 to 3CX?
No. The 3CX IVR guide says “Do not use MP3 format.” Convert your greeting to WAV first: PCM, 8 kHz, 16 bit, mono. Our free audio converter does this with the “WAV PCM 8kHz 16-bit” setting.
Where else can I use the converted file in 3CX?
3CX names two places: Digital Receptionist (IVR menus) and Call Queues, for intro prompts and on-hold music.
Can I record the prompt in 3CX instead?
Yes. 3CX lets you click the microphone icon to record a new prompt. A generated file gives you a clean studio-quality voice instead of a desk-phone recording.
Where are the official 3CX instructions?
In the 3CX IVR / Digital Receptionist guide and the 3CX article Converting Unsupported Audio Files to WAV.
