Personal extension
For a named person rather than a department.

Short greeting
Around twelve seconds. For lines with high call volume.

After-hours templates
Closed with reopening time
A concrete reopening time beats a vague "during business hours".
Thank you for calling [Company Name]. You have reached us outside our opening hours. We reopen on [Day] at [Time]. Please leave a message and we will return your call on the next working day.
Closed with urgent route
When something genuinely cannot wait until morning.
Thank you for calling [Company Name]. Our office is closed. If this is an urgent [type of issue], please [action, e.g. press 1 / call the number on your contract]. For everything else, leave a message and we will come back to you on the next working day.
Lunch break
A short, temporary greeting.
Thank you for calling [Company Name]. Our office is closed for lunch between [Time] and [Time]. Please call back after [Time], or leave a message and we will return your call this afternoon.

Waiting message
Repeat every two to three minutes inside a longer music loop.

Give the caller something useful while they wait.

Name the reopening date, not just "the holidays".

When you are open, but not fully staffed.
