What matters for veterinary clinics

01

Name the nearest emergency hospital

If you close at night, tell callers where to take a pet in an emergency. Use the name of the 24-hour emergency animal hospital you refer to, and keep it current.

02

Possible poisoning

Owners call when a dog has eaten chocolate, grapes or medication. If you refer to an animal poison control hotline, put the hotline name in the greeting and the number on your website.

03

Refills need lead time

Ask for the pet’s name, the medication and the pharmacy, and say how long refills take. That turns many repeat calls into one.

04

Calm voice, slow pace

A worried caller needs a calm voice and short sentences. Pick a warm voice and avoid fast music under the greeting.

Built by phone-audio professionals

This generator comes out of more than 20 years in a recording studio. We built in what makes a greeting work on the phone: clear pronunciation, sensible pauses and music that never covers the voice. Questions? Andreas Brenner and Tim Stein will help you personally.

Questions

Should a vet clinic greeting give medical advice?

No. Give one clear instruction for emergencies, where to go, and leave medical questions for the callback with the veterinarian or the emergency hospital.

Which emergency hospital should we name?

The one you actually refer to, by name and address. Check it every few months; hours and locations change.

How long should the greeting be?

Around 20 seconds. Emergency instruction first, then refills and appointments.
