Aircall says it operates on a fixed telephony standard: 8-bit PCM mono uLaw at 8 kHz. A clear, steady voice matters more than a high bitrate.
Our free audio converter turns any MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG or M4A into a file Aircall accepts.
Common errors and fixes
Check the file against Aircall’s list: MP3, under 9.57 MB, mono, a file name without special characters. Rename the file, for example welcome.mp3. If Aircall still refuses it, send us the error message through our contact page and we will help.
Apple recordings carry metadata Aircall cannot read. Use the MP3 from phonegreetings.ai or convert the file with our audio converter.
Built by phone-audio professionals
This generator comes out of more than 20 years in a recording studio. We built in what makes a greeting work on the phone: clear pronunciation, sensible pauses and music that never covers the voice. Questions? Andreas Brenner and Tim Stein will help you personally.

Which file format does Aircall accept?
MP3 only. Aircall’s audio file requirements list a file under 9.57 MB, a bitrate of 16 kbps or lower, an audio frequency of 16 kHz or lower, mono audio and a file name without special characters.
Can I record an iPhone voice memo and upload it?
Aircall notes that Apple audio recordings include metadata that is not compatible with Aircall. A file from phonegreetings.ai avoids that problem.
Does Aircall have text-to-speech?
Yes, Aircall offers text to speech and recording in the Dashboard. Use an uploaded file when you want a specific voice, music under the voice and the same sound on every number.
