Name, reason for the missed call, what to leave, when you call back. That fits easily in 20 seconds and leaves room for a short pause before the tone.
Our free audio converter turns any MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG or M4A into a file Dialpad accepts.
Common errors and fixes
Dialpad limits custom voicemail greetings to 45 seconds. Cut the text and create the greeting again; previewing in our generator is free.
Usually long music. Shorten the file or create the greeting without a long intro.
Built by phone-audio professionals
This generator comes out of more than 20 years in a recording studio. We built in what makes a greeting work on the phone: clear pronunciation, sensible pauses and music that never covers the voice. Questions? Andreas Brenner and Tim Stein will help you personally.

Questions
How long can a Dialpad voicemail greeting be?
Dialpad says custom greetings must be 45 seconds or less, and MP3 uploads 10 MB or less. Most business voicemail greetings need 15 to 25 seconds.
Can I use the same file for the main line?
Yes, if it fits the purpose. The main line has its own Open Hours Welcome Greeting under Business Hours & Call Routing. A welcome greeting usually sounds different from a voicemail greeting, so create one of each.
What about hold music in a department queue?
Dialpad accepts custom hold music as an MP3 file no larger than 10 MB. See our page on hold music licensing before you upload commercial songs.
Where are the official Dialpad instructions?
In the Dialpad help center: Manage Your Voicemail, Manage a Main Line and Manage a Department Hold Queue.
