Voicemail Greetings for Car Dealerships

A dealership is four businesses behind one phone number: sales, service, parts and finance. The greeting decides how fast each caller reaches the right desk, and whether a sales lead waits until morning.

What matters for car dealerships

01

Different hours per department

The service lane often opens earlier than the showroom. Say the service hours in the greeting, so early callers know when someone will answer.

02

Recall questions

Owners call about recall letters. Ask them to have the VIN ready; the service advisor can then check the recall and book the visit in one call.

03

Evening leads are hot leads

Many shoppers call after work. An after-hours sales mailbox with a fast morning callback keeps those leads from moving on.

04

Keep the menu to four options

Sales, service, parts, finance. Every extra option makes callers wait longer before they reach a person.

Built by phone-audio professionals

This generator comes out of more than 20 years in a recording studio. We built in what makes a greeting work on the phone: clear pronunciation, sensible pauses and music that never covers the voice. Questions? Andreas Brenner and Tim Stein will help you personally.

Questions

Should the main greeting announce current offers?

Keep offers out of the main greeting and put them in the on-hold message. They change often, and an old offer in the greeting causes trouble.

Why ask for the VIN?

The VIN lets your service advisor check recalls and parts for that exact vehicle. Asking for it before the callback saves time on both ends.

Should finance callers leave personal details?

No. Ask only for name and number, and collect sensitive details on a secure channel.
