Change your Vodafone voicemail greeting
Vodafone voicemail has separate greetings for all calls, for a busy line and for an extended absence. That suits a business mobile: record the absence greeting once and switch to it when you are on leave.
Record a greeting
Call 121
From your Vodafone phone. Your first mailbox set-up only works from your own phone. Standard call charges apply.
Press 2
Manage your greetings.
Choose the greeting
Press 1 for the personal greeting for all calls, 2 for the busy greeting, 3 for the extended absence greeting, or 4 to record your name for the standard greeting.
Record and save
Press # when you finish recording. Then press 1 to replay, 2 to save or 3 to record again.

Visual voicemail on iPhone
Dial 1217 from your iPhone to switch it on. Your current personal greeting carries over. Tap Greeting in the Visual Voicemail menu to record a new one.

Another phone or overseas
Call 0414 121 121 from another phone, or +61 414 121 121 from overseas, and enter your security code. Set up the mailbox on 121 before you travel.

Security code
4 to 10 digits, no repeated or consecutive numbers. If you forget it, Vodafone gives 1555.
Playing the file into the call
Vodafone’s page describes recording by phone only. Play your downloaded MP3 from a computer into the call when the recording starts, then press # to finish. Expect a slight loss of quality.

Can I change the greeting while my phone is ringing?
No. Vodafone notes that you cannot change your greeting while your phone is ringing. Call 121 when the line is free.
How do I delete a recorded greeting?
Vodafone’s page says to press 4 in the menu to erase your recorded greeting.
