Change your AT&T voicemail greeting
On an AT&T wireless phone, you record the greeting yourself: in Visual Voicemail on iPhone, or by pressing and holding 1 to call your mailbox. AT&T’s support page describes both ways.

Set up
Select Set Up if you have not set up voicemail yet.

On the dial pad, press and hold 1 to call your AT&T voicemail.
Go to the greetings
Follow the voice prompts to your greeting settings.
Record
Record your new greeting, listen to it and save it.

AT&T’s instructions describe recording on the phone, not uploading a file. Want the voice from our generator on your AT&T line? Start the recording on your phone, then play the file from a laptop speaker right next to it. Choose a quiet room and hold the phone close. The sound is a little less crisp than an uploaded file, but your callers hear a clear voice and a well-built message.
