Many US businesses change their hours between Memorial Day and Labor Day, with short Fridays or a week off around the Fourth of July. Your greeting should say the summer hours before callers find out the hard way.

When July 4 falls on a weekend, say which weekday you close. Callers will not guess.
Keep separate files for summer hours and each holiday. Swapping a file is faster than editing a long greeting.
